Here in Florida we can get incredibly fresh (and less costly) produce by buying fruit when it is “in-season.” Oranges, tangerines, and grapefruit are plentiful here year- round. Just coming in to harvest right now are watermelon, cantaloupe, peaches, as well as tropical fruits like mango, papaya, and guava.

There are lots of ways to enjoy these fruits! Try a bowl of home-made tropical fruit salad. Or, cut some fresh mango and papaya and add yogurt and crushed nuts on top. Try your hand at baking some fresh fruit cobbler. Or how about throwing fruit into a blender with soy or almond milk and ice for a refreshing smoothie?
