Should You “Diet”?

As we get closer and closer to the New Year many of us are starting to consider our New Year’s Resolutions. Undoubtedly, many of us will choose a weight related resolution. However, have you ever stopped to think that maybe as we continue to set the same resolutions year after year that our ideas about dieting could be all wrong?

As a registered dietitian I say, yes! Instead of trying to find the perfect diet that melts fat like butter in the sun, look a little deeper. Try to figure out what balance, healthy living and wellness really mean to you and your family? Learn how to balance your plate, eating more whole foods like fruits, vegetables and whole grains and less food with added sugars, fats and salt. Then think about your whole health picture.
